I chose the Vietnamese piece "Ewer in form of phoenix" because my body of pictures reminds me of the importance of individualism, and the sculpture/design reminds me of Chinese dishware. Even though fine China is typically used in communal settings I think the individual designs being so outwardly similar but intricately different really speaks to the individuality of the pieces and the people who made them. It really speaks to the human experience to make such a piece that balances those two concepts.
This summer I worked at the beach setting up for volleyball tournaments. We would have some high level players from all over come in for some of the big tournaments.
