These may seem different, but they all have something in common - they represent the human experience. More about this is written in Part 2.
Part 2
Each of these experiences tells us not about my life, but about humanity. For example, the drawing represents the human tradition of art. The photograph of me in Spain reflects cultural differences among humans that have persisted for ages. Each of these things reflect the basic human desire to understand things and the diversity of the human experience. The spyglass is a metaphor for the former because it was created in order to discover things; in other words, it was created to satisfy a human's curiosity. It also represents the latter because the spyglass was invented by people who discovered new cultures in the New World, and so were exposed to cultural diversity.
